Rotary Service strikes again!

Our District received 12,000 pairs discontinued shoes donated by Sketchers for the needy and homeless. Milt Levinson, long time dedicated rotary member picked up 500 pairs for the Well in the Desert clients and families. 

 

Rotary Club of Palm Springs Celebrated our women in rotary!
 
THE 1989 COUNCIL ON LEGISLATION VOTED TO ADMIT WOMEN INTO Rotary clubs worldwide remains to be a watershed moment in the history of Rotary.  By june 1990, the number of female rotarians had skyrockedted to over 20,000. by 2010, the number of women was approaching 200,000.
 
Margie Taft was the first woman to join the Rotary Club of Palm Springs in 1987 and has been an active member ever since!

Three Students from Palm Springs High School participated in our speech contest. Melina Solis was our 1st Place Winner, Hayden Poulain 2nd Place, Ahmed Nahian 3rd Place!  A BIG thank you to Kathy Weyer for organizing this event for our club!
Our loyal Rotarians were there to help even in the rain!!
 
The Rotary Club of Palm Springs and employees from The Ritz Carlton each sent 15 volunteers to assist in painting the BGCPS Clubhouse. Both organizations are long-time supporters of the Club.  The Palm Springs True Value store, as part of its True Value Foundation’s “Painting a Brighter Future” program, donated 40 gallons of paint.
 
 
For a Rotarian's at Work day project, our club and the PSHS Interact club cleaned the books and fixtures at the Children's section at PS Public Library.
 
Our Club Celebrated 75 years on May 3, 2016
